| I am setting up my factory wide front on full steel for a plow day. My question is, on the rear, I am using the old tip-toe type steel. Did the old timers put wheel weights on steel wheels to plow with? I have a set of 161's I can put on if it is necessary. I know in the past with rubber and no ballast, I had some trouble with traction. Maybe some of you old timers can help me. I am not quite old timey enough to have plowed with steel. Dave. |

I was plowing with this one about a month ago, there was some slippage but not too bad.

| I've never plowed on steel, but I've pulled with steel a fair amount, and I don't think you will need any weight, especially with tip-toe. |

| I used my WC with tip toe steel at one of Teds shows one year. I didnt have any problems pulling a two 14 allis plow with no rear weights. I ran in third, this WC pulled 35 horse on the dyno so its not light. If the ground is real hard you will want the weight, if its mellow, then you wont need the weight. Put some pictures on when you get time!!! |

Dave, If we don't get some rain before plow day you might put one set on, but if it rains some the ground will work up nice.
