The return line on one of my tractors that i recently bought was leaking, so I fixed it, but the previous owner had bio diesel in it, as it came from MN.  I started cleaning off the dried up fuel with E85, which does a decent job, but evaporates quickly, and can be hard on paint.  I'm curious if there is something else that others have used that would cling to vertical surfaces and dissolve the old fuel?  Brake cleaner doesn't seem to phase it, and it'd be nice to clean behind the injector pump, where it's hard to reach behind with a brass brush.  Thanks, guys!

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I've used a putty knife and scrape where it reaches, then get a can of spray engine cleaner, spray on cool engine where you want to clean, let soak until starts to dry and use a squirt nozzle on end of garden hose and thoroughly rinse off.
A pressure washer works better but sometimes we use what we have available.

Thanks for the ideas guys!  I tried straight simple green, mainly because it's what I had on hand.  It seems to work ok too.  Pressure washer is definitely the way to go.  Mine doesn't heat the water like it should now, one more thing to fix, Smile

Dollar General oven cleaner. Used it on the final drive covers of my WD. 71 years of grease came right off. Didn't seem to hurt what was left of the paint.
