Pinion shaft would be part of the transmission that indexes into ring gear , and ring gear is flange mount to the brake/clutch drum .
Which section are you in the final drive and 3 reduction gears in the outer housing ?
If so believe the only way it to drop all the gears out which means pulling the axle also

It is the very top gear that has the shaft coming off the steering clutch, I got that shaft out and the gear drops down in, I can reach up from the bottom and grab it and will come down some but it doesn’t seem it has enough room to come out.

Did you try to turning the bulgear front in back maybe the pinion could go down or if you removed the top shaft cage and try to fisch the pinion and the pinion is 5 1/2 inch hight

Tried to get the gear over the bull gear it is just barely to big but it is not able to clear the housing, also the bearings measures 5”, wasn’t able to get it through the housing.

I would suggest you pull the bottom cover from the final case and closely check the intermediate shaft for looseness. These bearings are much more prone to failure. There should be NO endplay or radial movement in this shaft.

The intermediate shaft is the shaft in between the final drive pinion shaft and the shaft that has the bull gear on it?

The intermediate shaft I did check it does not have slop in it, but I am still having problems getting the pinion gear out. I was reading in the book they said they slip the pinion gear in then put the intermediate shaft and the bull gear in, would that be the only way to get the pinion gear out?
