I have this gravity wagon with dual chutes and one door is missing it's pinion gear attaching to the hand wheel to operate the chute door. I think the wagon is a model 400 but not entirely certain. Good wagon and I use a chain fall or come a long to keel haul the door open to dump now. I just need the pinion gear that drives the rack to open the door Thanks for any assistance. ------------- That's All Folks! |

| Are your parts machined teeth? My Parker wagon has machined rack & pinion. I don't know if they still exist either. Check out hopper bottom trailer parts for something you may be able to adapt? Wilson used a R & P before the straps. Think Timpte has used similar. |

Yes, they are machined teeth. I think there are 12 teeth on the pinion gear and it looks like a #100 chain sprocket to me but it engages with a rack on the door. I can make something work with a length of chain and appropriate sprocket but was hoping someone had an old wagon no longer used they could part with this gear. It plainly has cast into it "M&W Gear, Gibson City, IL", but they no longer support these. I get by there delivering to Pontiac fairly regular so stopped in and asked. ------------- That's All Folks! |

 I needed one and found a 60 roller chain sprocket about the right size and welded chain to an angle iron.

I deducted the same with a #60 roller chain sprocket, (3/4" pitch) and ordered two. One is an "A" type, the other a "B" and welded together they work well on the existing rack. It will be a lot easier than a crowbar to open the doors during grain operations later in the fall. ------------- That's All Folks! |
