I thought I would post a picture of my 190XT in action as a hay baling and loader machine.  For a change, I am not posting a problem for anyone to solve. :-)

Big thanks to those forum members that have chimed in to help me make it into a "loader with grapple" tractor.  AND, to all others who have helped me keep it running over the years.  I have had it for 6 years now, I believe.  I have the side shields off as I am still working on the alternator and rewiring task.

It did 1050 small square bales on Tuesday.  Then, the 190XT loaded about 500 in a Dry Van and another 400 on a flatbed semi trailer.  190XT raked, tedded, baled some hay and loaded all of the hay!  7010 was used to cut hay and took over baling so the 190 could start loading hay.

I do worry that I am working it too hard.  I know that it isn't the ideal loader tractor but it is actually taller than a skidsteer for placing bales on the flatbed semi trailer.  Couldn't go 5 high on the stack without height.  It would be nice to go 6 high but I am happy with my new haymaking setup.  While the accumulator and grapple allow you to move hay pretty quickly, the semi allows you to transport hay quickly and in big quantities. and that was going to be a problem.  Really like the old 87 GMC General with a Cummins 855 Big Cam that is pulling the hay around too.

We have never finished 1st cutting by June 1 for ourselves and our customers, but we did this year.  Lots of higher capacity equipment made that happen but the Allis tractors, especially the 190XT played a huge role in that!

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks for the pictures and congratulations on getting the hay grapple to work. Those bale accumulator’s work pretty well and save a lot of manual labor. Just keep on baling, no stopping for water breaks for the loading crew lol. Just keep on banging out bales. 860 is the most we have done in a day and we was whipped at the end of the day.

I had never done more than 400 in a day since I was a kid.  On this past Tuesday, I couldn't start baling until 2:00PM due to moisture levels.   We finished baling at 5:30.  By 7:30 all trailers and wagons were loaded and we started transport home.  In years past, we got home at midnight with maybe 300-400 bales.

I remember those days of myself and 6 kids helping throw bales all day and unloading wagons as fast as we could so they had another wagon back at the field.

You are absolutely right, the grapple and accumulator are back savers!

The MIGHTY XT.  That's what my Dad calls his.  Such an awesome tractor.
