I have difficulty maintaining a desired height of the 3pt on a D 15 II. When the pump

engage lever is in the neutral position as well in the drop position I feel the pump engage when the notched lever is moved from notch 20 on up through notch 25. The 3pt will rise very slowly to maximum height. It will not drop if the pump engage lever is in the neutral position it will drop rapidly if it is the drop position. This dropping will only occur if the notched lever is lower than 20. There is no activity when the notched liver is positioned 1 to 20. I had assumed I could set the 3pt at a fixed height. How do I set it?

Nope. The "notched" lever is the Traction Booster and not a depth control lever. So, what are you trying to hold at a specific height ?? You can probably rig up a chain to control your drop height.

Oh! that sheds a lot of light on the dilemma. I was not aware that lever controlled the Traction Booster. I would like to set a drop height on the 15 as I do with a !7 IV. I attempt to hold some of the weight of a wheel rake so that the wheels will turn but to prevent them from dragging and digging into the dirt when turning. That would eliminate raising it, than find that "ideal" height when you drop it. Thank you Doc for the information.
