Just bought a 1944 Allis C that has a Woods belly mower.
The hydraulic lift actuator is leaking and needs to be replaced or repacked
I have been looking for manuals, or part numbers but have not found anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

does it use the standard Allic B-C cylinder ? maybe a 3/4 inch rod... od of cylinder is like 1.25 inch... pin connections on each end... single acting, hose connects at the back end ??

Woods L 59 or L 306 use the C hyd cylinder fliped to face foward. Have you tried tightening the packing nut. The only thing in that cylinder are the leather packings under the packing nut. I just took mine out by removing the nut pull the rod out and the leathers pop right out. Went to the local hardware store got 3 leathers for a pump cut them down and put it back together. Soak the leathers in oil first. Tighten the packing nut snug. Run it some and tighten again mines been good for 25 years.

I just posted a couple photos of what my actuator looks like. I'm struggling trying to post photos and put text together as I'm new to this. Sorry.

I have not tried your suggestion, however I will. I was actually looking for a part number for this actuator, or part number for the seals. Wasn't aware I could go to a local hardware store for seals. Didn't know they were made of "Leather". I obtained a Woods L59 owners manual, that shows parts breakdowns, however it does not show this actuator.

the CYLINDER is made by Allis Chalmers.. It is not part of the WOODS system.  You need packing for an ALLIS cylinder... You can use the old leather type, or you can use newer plastic VEE packing... Note that many of the ON LINE vendors list a larger size packing (WD 45 size) for the B and C... Yours has a smaller rod... check that ... 3/4  dia... Not 1-1/4 inch..
