Was able to participate in a spring tractor ride yesterday beginning south of Jackson, Michigan and riding approx 25 miles to lunch in Springport, Michigan and back. 34 multi-colored tractors on the ride, with 6 Allis Chalmers mixed in with all the others. There was a WC, two D-10 III's, a D-15 II, and two CA's. Had a great time with the weather holding off some sprinkles of rain once we were back. Fellow forum member Dusty was along on the ride as well. Definitely looks like fun. Haven't heard of any rides close to
here yet this year, would like to have the beans in the ground before
starting the recreational stuff. Have a pair of wheels/tires in the shed that I need a 45 for. Just for tractor riding. Here's a picture of them on my plow tractor. They are 15 (18.4)x26, taller then the 16.9x28's. Would be nice to have a 45 set up with these and no weights. Half a ton less to drag around would be great.  |

Mike, If the ole' 45' is flipped to 12, take that ballast resistor and throw it in the garbage and put a 12V/3.0 Ohm internal resisted coil on it instead. Mother Nature loves playing havoc with them ballast resistors especially on wet or humid days. They cause engine missing, and all kinds of goofy things to the ignition system. They didn't work under the hood of a 60's Automobile, they sure as heck don't work out in the elements on a Tractor.
