Running through my veins called Allis Chalmers garden tractors! I must have just contracted this disease last week and I need help. I know there’s a garden tractor section, but I need y’all’s opinions ASAP. T-818. Any good? And 920. Thanks. Dana

Personally I wouldn't buy either one if you plan on using. A 7 or 900 series with single cylinder engine would be a better choice! 920 engine parts are hard to find and very expensive! T series is a yard tractor and 2 cylinder briggs hads it's problems too!

I have a 920 diesel and love it! parts are easy to get here from a semi-local lawn and garden store. only problem with it is the previous owner tightened down the oil drain plug to tight and stripped the threads, i can't get the plug out yet, but check oil often as it does drip a little.

I'm wit' Jeff on that one Cap. The 700/900 series Tractors are great hard workin' Tractors. Lottsa' parts n' attachments for them can be found yet. Snowblowers, tillers, plows. Here's Jo Jo on our 716H plowin' snow with Dozer blade. That overbored Kohler was killer man! Pushed some serious snow for the size Tractor it was....

If I had to pick my favorites. 912 hydro electric lift, 710 regular straight 3speed and any of the old yellow B-10,12,110 with straight 3speeds.

Yes Steve they will amaze you on the snow they push. We have the original weights that slide in the rear hitch. Makes a difference

I have a 917h A.C. that I used to mow lawn when we lived on one acer. I added a Simplicity that other than paint and labels, looks just like the 917h. We moved, and now have about 3 acres to mow and nothing is square, so I bought a 61" zero-turn, which like. I have a lot of pine trees with limbs hanging to the ground, so I made what I call  Side-winder, which is a deck off the 917 with an electric motor powered by a v-belt mounted on the side of the 917, with the mower on the left side, works real nice.

 I also have a 720h with a loader.

I picked up a B10 that has an old Briggs 10 hp, 36” belly mower, rear tiller, & side sickle. Like Mikez says, the lawn tractor is simple & just plain stupid fun to operate. Hence their mother company was/is Symplicity.

Thanks to all. I found this T816 which some wealthy estate guy owned and pampered. He passed and the family was tossing it in a dumpster. The guy I bought it from took it home, new seat, new starter, new batt and I got it from him. Ran it through my shop today. I certainly don’t need another mower ( have 7 beauties) so I took the deck off and guess I’ll pull the lawn roller or get the mail? She’s pristeen!

Mike,  my weight box was a Diesel Battery to power the electric lift. Worked well for both purposes!  Thumbs Up
