Im having trouble with my temp gauge. Ive replaced the gauge and thr sending unit above the ac compressor. Online says there is two. I dont see thr other. Im assuming that the second one is bad and thats why its not working. Any help is appreciated

There is only one sender for the temp gauge. I don’t trust those factory gauges and always put another temp gauge in.

Have you tested the wire to the sender? Power to the gauge? Why do you say it doesnt work? If you turn the key on and ground the single wire that runs to the sender the gauge should peg the guage. Remove the wire from grounding and it should drop to cold. If it doesnt do that. test power to the guage. there should be 12 volts to one of the wires on the back. If there is 12 volts. ohm the sender wire. if all this checks out replace the sender. there is only one at the thermostat housing. (you can ohm the sender as well i just cant remember what the resistence is suppose to be at room temp) lastly the thermostats might be stuck open. i had a single thermostat stuck open and my temp gauge didnt come up at all.

When you turn the key the new temp gauge goes into the red and beyond. I have the same problem. Bought 2 new temp gauges. Also bought new senders for an 8070. My guy tells me that the new ones put out 11 volts to the sender and factory put out 5. They don’t have the right sender/gauge combo, yet.

Guages dont put out any voltage to the sender as far as I understand it. The sender is just a varying resistance to ground depending on the temp of the engine. it completes the circuit through the sender.

now i do know different guages use difference resistance sweep ranges to read accuratly. the range has to match the range the gauge will read. maybe thats what they meant.

It ended up being a ground issue. I i made a jumper wire to for the gauge to go from the fuel gauge side to the temp side. All is right in the world
