Thinking about getting an 18' disk to go behind my XT.  Has manual fold wings - are they easy to lift up and down?  Do they use the balpak bearings as well?

Also like to know how they do with corn stalks.  Any information is appreciated.

Many thanks!

The bearings, spools are still available through agco. They are not the old style balpack

Thankfully AC put helper springs on the wings. Not too difficult to fold down or to put back into travel position. They lock down using a piece of pipe to apply the lock. I’m not sure of the correct name of the part, maybe a cam?. It does a nice job cutting and leveling. We have not tried it in corn ground, only in soybean fields. Have not owned it very long. XT does a good job pulling it with ballast in the tires but pie weights would be a big help also. I bought a complete set for mine but I have not installed them yet.

You'll like an AC 2300 18' disc behind a 190XTD. You'll want duals on tractor.
We had 1 behind my AC200, 5th gear anywhere in stalks, 3rd or 4th gear in plowed ground used a pony harrow towed behind. Keep the blades sharp it does a good job.
It was just a bit too much for the 180 / 185's as we didn't have them weighted heavy enough so they'd spin out.

We have a 2300 disc and it is the lightest of the AC lineup of that time. Our farm ground is rented out but a few years back we thought we would play with it in corn stalks and that is all we were doing, playing!! It was way to light. Ryan
