Black Vultures have made their way in Central MO.  Notably these ugly buggers push out populations of less aggressive Turkey Vultures and Common Buzzards that clean up our rural areas.  These on the other hand have ZERO fear of Humans, have disregard for animal numbers as with herds of beef or sheep and are aggressive enough to Mob fresh births.

This taken off Gutenberg Street at 12th in Hermann Proper, local to there is wintering grounds for common buzzards and vultures.  These South of the Border Immigrants will push the others out.

Haven’t seen these over in the western side of Missouri yet but I’m sure it’s a matter of time. I’ll have to keep an eye out.

For those that have no idea of these, look them up, very aggressive birds, NO fear of Humans or other animals, will mob a calf or lambs or even pets as small dogs to attain a meal.  Prolific as rats, tend to force other buzzard varieties out of a area, Mo Dept Of Conservation has partnered with MO Farm Bureau in a blanket permit as needed to MFB members with problems of these birds to remove up to five per land owner but have to get with your FB division for authority.

Nope, just Five Birds, however, NOBODY comes out to count them.

My Thought, Drop em, leave em lay, Coyotes and Coons take care of disposal.

Spring calves are attacked when not yet out of the womb. They go after the eyes and umbilical cord. Now a days that’s $1000 bucks down the drain plus 9 months feeding the mother cow. Cattle growers here in Indiana would shoot and dispose. Didn’t work until they realized that leaving the dead buzzard lie where it died his cousins wouldn’t come around anymore.
