I've got a 7045 that has developed problems getting the hydraulic remotes to detent in place, especially into float. I put new bunker hill cables on thinking that would help but it didn't. With the tractor off and the cables unhooked I can manually move the valve pivots and they will detent in raise and lower positions but not float. There is some slop in the linkages all around, even where the pins go through the remote spools. What is my next step?

No slop anywhere. Replace the levers and pins that attach to the spools. Normal wear area.

Make a support for left end of pivot shaft at valve will also help. Pivot shaft is a big ware point. MACK

What about the valve pressures?
That will affect the functioning...

Is that particular valve adjusted so tight it cannot kickout of raise or lower automatically ?? If so, back out the kickout pressure adjust screw a little and see if that helps with the float position.

I took the linkages levers off under the cab where the cables hook on. They were severely wallowed out. I welded up the sloppiest parts and ground things back out to make the pins fit tight and the slot as a line instead of a fat crescent moon. Put it back together and the levers detent like they should from the cab now. Didn't start it up to verify the pressures to kick out, but I think we got it fixed. Thanks for all the help!

Your fix will not last as long as OEM new levers AND pins. Those levers have some heat treatment to them to make them last longer.

I wondered about that. I am getting antsy about needing that tractor to plant corn, so I hated to leave things apart while I was waiting on new pieces. Thank you!
