I have D-19 gas, Wondering will a motor out of a 190XT fit in it? Will It bolt to D-19 bell housing? Just starting this project,is it woth it?

190XT diesel? or gas ?? either can be made to fit, but not easily. Are you a narrow front or wide front ?? Your D-19 power steering won't work because it won't work. The 190 engine is too wide at the bottom, so your power steering ram has no place to be, unless you make the length of the tractor about 12 inches longer. It will have to be about 5 inches longer anyway just to get the extra length of the engine in there. A wide front could have an external cylinder like a 190, but you'd have to make the steering hydrostatic with no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front end. Then, there's the HP issue, with a diesel having enough torque to destroy the transmission and rear end if you weight it down and pull a bigger plow.

Thank You Dr. Allis for your reply.I was wanting to hear the about the problems I would encounter before I got in the middle of this. Would a 4b or a 6b cummins be a better swap? My D-19 is a narrow front and it does run pretty decent. I just like black smoke better and I thought this would be a good project. Maybe I should sell or trade this one. Thanks again

Neither Cummins would be any easier, as you'd have to adapt some kind of Cummins flywheel and then figure out a pressure plate/clutch. The 4BT may allow the power steering to still exist in OEM form to keep your NF end. The 433-T A-C engine would be the easiest as your flywheel and clutch will fit the 433-T crankshaft and the engine is short enough in a D-19 chassis that the steering could be made work I think.

K-2 and F-2-3 combines. 433-T in the K-2 and 433-TI in the F-2-3. The "I" is the intercooler which can be removed if desired to keep from butchering up the left hood.
