As you can see in the pic on the tear down thread I put a straight pipe on it to get rid of the gosh awful cobbled muffler when I bought it. In all fairness to the previous owner it was very quiet but looked bad. It’s really not that loud with a straight pipe. I thought about a larger chrome pipe, but wow, they are expensive. I see A&W may have a Nelson so I will call them tomorrow. Not many suppliers out there offering mufflers. Thanks guys, Jason also sent me a text that Shoup has one, looks like the same one DJ’s. Yeah they are, I was hoping for a forum member to have Nelson NOS when I posted this originally. I have a new Nelson oval muffler in the shed, not sure what it fits. Is there a part no. on them or some other identification? |

The oval muffler didn’t come along until the series III.
