Joe has taught me well.
I loaned my cherry picker out a few years back and will never get it back.
I been needing it a lot lately.
I saw one that was taken apart for $50.00
I went to look and it’s a very heavy well made cherry picker.
I bought it from a couple ladies.
After I paid her I heard her say I’m selling his boat and other tools next.
We’ll see how he likes that.
I loaded up and hauled tail and never looked back.

Depending on the County she could get her ass in a sling selling marital property.

I would have stuck around and asked about the tools, not much of a boat guy. Maybe this would have led to his 1963 Corvette that you would grudgingly take off their hands for $2,000.

Isn’t there a song about she got the gold mine, I got the shaft?

You all ask in the wrong questions about the tools and the car!

Better question is “what’s she look like?” Get the tools, car and some extras for free! (Noted it will come at some price)

Why wasn’t it ole Joe himself, couple months ago, that was thinking he’d sneak into church lookin for a lady friend?

I figure it was a mother and daughter.
I’d guess the mom/ older gal to be a few years older than I.
She offered to help load the parts. I told her I could get it. She told me she was raised like a boy and could work like boy. I then told her I was raised to do the heavy lifting and not leave it for ladies.
She said ok but would help if needed.
Once she told me about the boat and tools I was ready to scoot.

Well, there's always the slight possibility that the husband may have passed away... and they weren't just talkin' like he wasn't...

But it is what it is.

I've always told my wife that after I go, research everything carefully before you sell it...

And don't sell the forklifts 'till LAST...Wink

Not that  the boys will follow it,,,but,,,when the wife passed,,, I went around and wrote down all of my "Rat Holed" car and tractor parts and special  tools etc on a list and what I think could be "liquidated" at a "a'hem" reasonable price,,,taking into account there will most likely be some dudes there that will try every trick in the book to steal some of my valuable chit,,,,for penny's on a dollar, cause what I paid for them don't mean chit,,,,,Wink

I lost a friend a few years back. He was a tractor collector.
He told his wife what he thought the tractors were worth.
She could never sell them because she thought they were worth way more than they were.
She had me come over quite often to clean carbs and gas tanks to get some running but they wouldn’t sell.
I started working on the road and couldn’t get to them. She got very angry at me.
One day she called and asked why they wouldn’t sell?
I told her and told her to research what they were bringing.
She told me she’d never give them away for what they were bringing on line.
She auctioned them three different times and never sold a one. Owed commission every time.
I told Jenny to have an auction and let them do the work.

You’re right, should offer a few hundred less, probably has a Muncie 4 speed manual, much less desirable than the automatic.

Thad, is that the friend you told me about that went off the side of the road coming back from a show?  Seems I remember a couple of G's sitting out behind your shop.
Has I mentioned, I wouldn't be too anxious to drive those roads of yours pulling a load....especially at night!
