One of my (many) projects is a steel wheeled B that I bought a few years ago. I am getting ready to have the rear steel wheels sandblasted and primed. My question is what color are the wheels supposed to be? I have heard black, orange and a combination of the two (black outers with orange in the center). Any idea how they were, when they were new?

My guess would be orange everything. Most often the only things black were items painted by vendors and installed or replaced after factory painting or test running. ------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Entire wheel painted orange. ------------- Pre-WW2 A-C tractors on steel wheels...because I'm too cheap to buy tires! |

The wheels are completely rusted. One was 1/4 sunk in the ground when I bought it. I couldn't find any trace of paint.
