I have a D17 IV diesel with power steering that was originally a narrow front but a previous owner converted it to a wide front with what I believe is a "Schwartz" front axle. I would like to convert it back to narrow front at some point.

Question: Will any Series D17 narrow front work on a series iv?

Would a diesel have a different narrow front than a gas?

Thanks in advance

Any series should work.                      MACK

Only any D17 or D19 will work. D19 is 2" taller. D14/15 are shorter and have a different spline. I have a D17IV diesel that I installed a narrow front on. Used a D19 to get the tractor to sit level because it has 14.9 x 38 rears .

D-19 and One-Seventy's use the same taller NF post.

Thank you for the help. I had thought I read somewhere that there was some change to the series iv pedestal, whether through different bearings or something, but this may not be correct.

Thanks again!

D17 Series III and IV have a different heavier wide front axle but the bolster is the same as earlier D17's
