As of 1/1/23 you are no longer required to use your turn signals at 200 feet, 300 if speed is over 50mph. You are now required to use your turn signals within in a reasonable distance! How you, or the patrolman is supposed to determine reasonable is beyond me, but that is what your state law now says. ------------- I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. It's hard to see turn signals because of the LED headlights also some turn signals on newer cars are so tiny . This is very true the led light are so bright and turning signals so small you can't see them till they are up on you

+1, with added note- stylists are so hell-bent on 'integrating' the turn-signal into the headlamp, and with DRL and rain-lights rules, regardless of wether the turn signal is actually ON, it is not visible up against the flooding of the headlamp. Remember when cars were cool... they actually had character, and the turn signals were out there and visibly obvious? Yeah... not anymore. Somewhere along the way, companies that made SHOES, started styling them to look like cars... And then car manufacturers started making their vehicles look like shoes. Of course, now you go get a Bronco, a Jeep, a Kia, a Hyundai, a Chevy, a Fiat, and a Porsche... cut the emblems off, rotate them all around, and nobody knows the difference anyway. ------------- Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest. |

One of my private peeves are the majority of drivers turn on their turn signals about 30 feet before they turn, not before they get in the turn lane. This afternoon, I saw just the opposite, the BMW I was behind turned on the signal a mile before the turn. It was kind of overcast and foggy so I thought they just didn't know how far from the turn. I continued following for a couple miles and every time, the light went on at least half a mile from the turn. I figured it was either a new driver of a really old one. |
