Hello, Iam a new member with a question about hyd system on a WD.

The tractor has a snap coupler blade. The blade will "creep up". I'm guessing there is a leak in the valve that is on top of the pump?

Does it do this if the lever is all the way down?

No, not if the lever is all the down. I have the adjustments on the pump set to "hold postion" I was trying to get the blade to stay about 2" off the ground. but it keeps creeping up.

The blade seems to have only two settings. either on the ground or in full up postion.

It either is still getting operated by the traction booster linkage or something is leaking. I think that valve could be reworked an d cleaned easily if you have the service manual to show what is where before you take it apart. I've been putting off shimming the unloader valve on my 45 for several years. I can only get about 2800 psi. I think about .010 to .012 shim would do it. I used my blade today to level several loads of gravel. I pretty much had my left hand on the lever all the time. PS and the hand clutch made it a pretty easy job. Beat the heck out of a shovel.

I cleaned the valve and it is better. But still wants to creep up. Would it hurt anything if I disconnected the linkage for the traction booster to see what would happen?

It shouldn't hurt a thing to disconnect it. Just remember to hook it back up if you plan to do any plowing. The TB is a thing of wonder when it's working right with a mounted plow.

The screws you turn on the side are supposed to lock it from operating but I'm pretty sure mine is set up for the hold position and if I drive uphill with a load on the drawbar, my loader will creep up. It did that 25 years ago when I was pulling a JD14T baler and it still does it today. "why do today, what you can put off till tomorrow" right?

if you will stop the tractor,and set the blade where you want it,then go back to about the third long notch from the top(some where in that area)the blade should hold its position every time if the pump is set right.i have a 7 foot mower on mine and it holds good.(with the loader also)
