Not having a clue what you have, if it has an external coil on the engine, start at the ignition switch with a test light and see where there isn't any power. Could be just a bad connection somewhere. Possibly a bad coil? It's usually something dumb....

Mike, they'd lots of different ignitions, we're gonna need more specific identification to give any secure guidance.
