I am wanting a loader with a hydraulic bucket for my series 4 D17.  What loaders will fit and where might I find one.

I have a Series II D-17 with a 500 loader, and it works great.  When the dealer installed it, in 1970, the axles and tires were upgraded to a larger size than standard.
The frame rail width of a D-17 is slightly narrower than on a 180 tractor. The D-17 requires a shim between the frame rail and the loader frame.
I believe the Series IV does not require a front pump. I am sure someone will give verification regarding the pump.

Schwartz, I think it is a model 1400

I've got an old Westendorf loader that has been off my D17 S4 for a few years now. My 17 has a narrow front end. I've always wondered if there was a simple way to mount it on a wide front. It doesn't look much different than Stan's. Stan could you tell us how you drive into the Schwartz?

Orangepeeler: it is a late '60's style. And not really an easy on/off unit, though it could be taken off in maybe an hour. It has no "jack stands", etc. Plus we would need to add some quick connects for the hydraulics if we ever took it off as currently, every connection is threaded. It's one of those things that we just leave it on as its not much of an hindrance with it on in our opinion.
