Okay, I broke down and took my 6v starter to my buddy at the starter shop because I, for the life of me, could not figure-out the problem. But let's go back to the beginning.

Went to use the WC, hit the starting rod, dead. Threw the charger on come back the next day, dead. Time to go on the hunt. Of course before getting out the meter I cleaned all my terminals, made sure the battery was charged, cleaned the 'wedge-bolt/starter-bolt' and the nice big terminal I have there. NOTHING.

Maybe it's the cables, they're new; had my buddy Denny at the starter/alternator shop make'em for me...nice large cables. It's not them.

Ever use a machine screw to mount your start switch that it juuust long enough to go thru the casing and cause a dead short? I did.

Live and learn! Just a way of pressure-checking my own cooling system I guess!

Who Me make a mistake ? No never , LOL least not that i tell the world about.
Had a Olds with coil mounted on manifold , mounted it in another place, bolts that held coil were through bolts, I never put them beck , vacuum leak and would not run right ? No never happened .. LOL
Or the time I used the field coil from another Delco starter to replace the fields on my IH starter , dang thing would not start, who knew the starter field coils would cause starter to turn the wrong direction.

If I wrote about all the stupid things I`ve done, it would fill a 2 volume book.

I don't have to write a book about all of my mistakes, I just ask the wife. She has a good memory!< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">
