Would anyone know how to tell a 1941 C from a 1944 C besides the serial number.

there is a block serial number and the tractor number.

They had short steering arms until close to the end of '42.

Is the engine serial number available?  If so you can use this site.  I'm bet you knew that, so you must not have it available...
