I have a 175 Allis with steering problems. Remotes and lift arms work fine but the only way to steer it is to just keep turning the steering wheel and use the brakes. Anyone have any ideas what’s going on?

Sounds like the cylinder is leaking internally. JMHO Tracy

Yup what Tracy said. Take the steering ram and have it rebuilt.

Probably the problem BUT, you should disconnect each steering hose at the ram and PLUG THEM first. Then, see what you have. You should have great difficulty turning the steering wheel. If you do not, you have a pump issue.

The pump has a separate section for the power steering. There is also a relief valve between the pressure and return lines to the steering valve.

I plugged the steering lines at the steering cylinder and you can’t hardly turn the steering wheel so that tells me it’s the cylinder. I’ve tried to find a seal kit for the cylinder but I can’t seem to find one. Does any have a suggestion where I could get one.

Not sure Macon has a Agco dealer now but Brookfield does. Not far away.                            MACK
