Looks great. I like the looks of narrow front 190's. I have an Allis 780 and an Allis wagon in my collection. I would like to find a 2 row corn head and a direct cut (mowerbar) head for mine.

That canopy and narrow front sure made for a tough looking XT. 2 options I’ve wanted for my XT ever since I bought it. Chopper made the 301 really snort. It was my favorite demo.

Great video of some fine Allis Chalmers equipment in action.  Thank-you for posting

I have a 780 with the one row corn head and the Direct Cut grass head.  A very well designed and solidly built machine for its time

If a 94 HP tractor can pull that chopper at 4 MPH a 47 HP tractor could pull it at 2 MPH in theory.

My father bought a new 780 chopper (with one row corn head and direct cut heads) in 1966. At that time, he had a WD and WD45 for tractors. I remember him talking about how you could change heads on the 780 in minutes, compared to the old left hand cut chopper that took hours to change.

Reminds me of the days as a youngster pulling a 1 row Papec chopper with a 200 Allis. Think that’s a Kasten wagon

Not a Kasten wagon. Kasten's had an auger in the bottom the unload and this wagon has an apron.

Only a short row to work with unfortunately. He just went round and round until he had a load.
Used 2nd Low

We used 780 2 row head and XT for years, 2nd low or high, we planted some tall corn for silage.
Loved the shear bar, was actually a long razor, the least HP requirement of any chopper we used.
If their was a wet spot, brother would throw it in third high, lots of excitement.

Allis-Chalmers forage box sitting on some tandem running gear - it’s not AC, but can’t make out the brand.
AC XT sounds great with occasional black exhaust.
Thanks for sharing video.
