That maybe ugly but that is a factory paint job deutz did. That's pretty rare. I seen it along time ago on a lot at a dealer in IA. It's as rare as a L4

Just as well that they just put a green strip on it as opposed to the whole body. It would have looked like a big booger.
I like the green coloring on tractors but it doesn't look right on a combine.

I saw a few Fendt green big balers at the Hesston plant a few years ago. Still like the autumn prime color myself.

| As bad as this looks, an 8050 or an 8070 painted that god awful puke green looks worse. Sadly Duetz repainted and decaled a some left over tractors. |

| Does anyone know the story behind this combine. As bad as it looks it is interesting and as mentioned rare. I heard a story of an allis 8000 series that had its cab damaged by a tornado. When the insurance company had the tractor fixed the new cab came from deutz allis painted green. So instead of the hassle of taping off the cab and painting it orange they just painted the hood green to match. Has anyone else seen other deutz green allis's? Out local dealer had a deutz green 185 once. It just didnt look right. |

Not quit the same, but I've got a 917 Allis garden tractor that I bought at auction when it was about a year old. Then bought a new snow blower for it. Sorry to say the blower is green. Dusty ------------- 917 H, '48 G, '65 D-10 series III "Allis Express" |

I was told that Duetz repainted left over AC's to "match" their new line of tractors... as they were scrambling to cobble together their new line of tractors, and to give the dealers something to sell in the meantime. AC had been discounting the 8000 series heavily, including free front wheel assist. Times were hard and new tractors were dirt cheap. Ironically, green orphin AC's weren't all that easy to sell and most had a re-repaint job included to seal the deal. Why Deutz decided that particular shade of green was an improvement over their dark green I'll never understand, and of course it seems Germans absolutly hate orange. |
