Does anybody know how much horse the torque limiter can handle? If not much can it be done away with? By the way this is on a 7060.

What are you trying to do with it??? they can be "double sprung" to increase the holding power quite a bit. I used to pull one that ran 300 HP with double sprung set-up.

I have 7060 pulling tractor probably making 400 to 500 HP but havn,t had it on a dyno. I usualy run 1 gear under road gear on a 7060 PD with the torqe limiter double sprung and have never had a problem with the torque limiter

are you able to use the power director at all? putting together a 7080 at about 300 to 350 tops.

I am still using the power director clutch but i do not shift while pulling. I have heard of people using a valve off of a 8000 series pd. The 8000 series pd has an electric valve that shifts faster which would make it work better for pulling. I the pd will hold alot of power but if you slip it you will warp the clutch disks

Thanks for the info. My uncle had one slipping cost thousands to get fixed, I guess I thought if you slipped it once it would always slip. I'd like to be able to run about as good as injectionpump Ed does with his 210 but still be able to turn it down to farm with if thats possible. Why isn't there more 7000 series pulling isn't there more of them.

The main 7000 series tractor are not popular in pulling because they are heavy and the clutch is wet clutch is harder to adapt to high hp. But the power director clutch can eaisly handle 300 to 350 horse but also keep it under 3000 RPM. You are right every time you slip the torque limiter it will slip easier next time. Also rememer if it slips you loss hydrolic pressure and the clutch will disengage.
