My starter is warn down. The copper nub that sticks out from the starter has warn down so much that the switch (new) won't make contact. Any idea how to build up that nub?

Thanks,  Dan

It can be replaced. You have to disassemble the starter and remove the stud. It should be soldered. I had a new one put in my G starter. I brought it in cleaned up and in a basket and the shop put in a new stud and replaced the brushes for $50.
You might be able to solder some to build it up as long as it doesn't get  hot enough to break the connection to the wire inside.
