The FK stands for it was either a F or K series combine, then the number would just tell the year, or model built.  The V would mean variable speed transmission, or your standard gear drive.  I would guess just by looking at those numbers its around a 1979 model.  We have 2 1979 F2's and I believe that is around the same numbers as ours but not positive.

Actually I think the K stands for Corn Plus or Corn Soybean Special.

The K is for a corn plus machine, if it had a KS that is a corn and soybean special. You could have a FK, FKS or a KKS no KK.  There also was a windrow special, I dont remember the letters for it.  Here in the corn belt most were FKS until the corn plus came out,   a heck of a machine in its day.
