Has become a mess since are ALL IN at Cummins anymore.  Can remember when Cummins shops sold machines, parts and pieces but ONAN was still mostly its own company.

I just bought some tune up parts from the place charlie listed, and they appear to be genuine parts at wholesale prices. I have not taken the time to do the tuneup on my 720 yet. As for the carb, I bought the kohler one linked on here. Don't remember all the details but it was for a 25 or 27hp kohler 532 or??  I never did get out and snap a pic for robbie. lol!

Ive got parts from them before after I went to the site. What’s up with companies not taking phone calls? Online ordering only. Poor customer support IMO.

Why not do the carb conversion on it? Much cheaper.

What carb are you referring to? If I could find a suitable carb I would be interested.

There's a pretty simple Kohler carb conversion that several people had done. They documented it on Facebook and it's probably on SimpleTractors as well.

Very minor modification to the inlet bell mouth to create a side air vent, using a Dremel tool.

The worst thing to ever happen to Onan, was Cummins.  With respect to Onan support, they're nothing short of hideous.

I don’t have Facebook so I guess I will look on Simple tractors.
Sent Onan parts a message last evening asking about a carb rebuild kit. Haven’t heard a peep yet....great customer support I see.

Thanks Bird for posting that link. A little confused on the modification to the 2 areas in red. Not sure what he means by cut 2 locations back? Is that like grinding a portion of that area so The gasket doesn’t block it? Why not modify the bell horn so it doesn’t cover the holes? Maybe I’m miss understanding the modification.

Yea, I put one of those carbs on last year, or maybe even 2 years ago. Like the other thread shared, you need to notch the carb a little bit so the bowl vents properly. It runs good on mine, but I did have to put a little spring I cobbled on it to keep it from surging bad. The top load jet screw is a huge bonus!

Not having the main jet packing leak all the time would be a very nice feature..

I talked to Brenda last week and the complete carb kit is $161. I am going to pull the heads off to clean and inspect the valves. I adjusted the valves last week. My timing is correct, have good spark. Will order the Kohlor carb and give it a shot. Tired of dealing with the Zenith and it’s difficult tuning of the main jet.

I have not been able to locate a model number stamped on my original Zenith carb. Will need to do some research, it may be in my manual.

I just did seals on a cckb.  I found gasket kit at isavetractors.com.  You have to find link to Onan on left side.
I have also had great luck with Onan parts.com.  Usually they have a huge selection of parts listed.  You just have to look for your model on the pages of parts listed under topic.  I hope this helps.  Will

Ordered the carb for a K582 engine to give it a try. OnanParts.com is closed this week so I am going to try isavetractors.com to hopefully get some gaskets for the heads, intake, and exhaust since they have never been changed out.

Ok fellas, I’ve printed the instructions for the carb modification. Maybe I’m missing something. Do I cut a slot in the carb in the marked picture locations towards the inside? If so how deep and wide? Maybe I’m missing part of the thread?

I think it just needs slightly notched so the bowl will vent to the inlet and air filter area.
