Anyone have the part number for the generator that fits a 1968 HD16DP  S# 8706? Don't have a parts manual but my service manual doesn't give me the number.  Thanks

If'n it were me I'd upgrade that charging system using either a 20SI, or 33SI series Delco alternator myself. The old generators were good no doubt, but brushless alternators have many less parts to wear and require no periodic maintenance.

Well I found that the generator is working so I'm going to replace the regulator. I don't think the regulator should rattle if you shake it. Big smile

I'll look into changing over to an alternator when this generator gives up. Thanks

If you want to keep the orginal look, you can go with one of these alternators.
