While I am going through and changing the fluids in my tractor I found a drain plug I hadn't seen before. When I checked my manual I found it was for the Power Director and since I know I never have changed it I figured it was probably due. Well draining it out went easy, but what do I put back in it? The manual says it can use SAE 20W/20, 80 EP, or automatic transmission oil type "A" and to ask the tractor owner or operator what type of oil has been used. Great. Clear as mud! I have never heard of a 20W/20 oil or type "A" ATF and I'm not sure what 80 EP is (maybe like 80W90 gear oil?) So I am at the mercy of this group for recommendations as to what to put back into my tractor.

I've used 'Universal Tractor Fluid' or whatever 'they ' call it for every hole in my D-14s( cept engine) for past 2 decades. 'cheap' stuff from Wallmart...never had any issues....

YEP... Hytrans, UTF, Trans/ Hydraulic fluid... whatever you want to call it.. Same as in the hydraulics.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Yes,the one for hydraulic and transmission and usually includes wet brakes. Allis called it 821 power fluid. Using it in WD45 torque tube and trans for years.
