| Has anyone done that , original engine is a 2500 gas , will this hurt the rearend in time? The carburator on there is a zenith , not sure of number, i thought a holly was the standard how do i tell if this carb is too big or too small. thanks |

| the 2800 is about 20 more horsepower , a 2800 is in the tractor now, i forgot to mention that. |

Zenith is the better carb by far. The rear ends are the same for each the 190 and 190XT. Early tractors had a lighter rear end but almost all the early XT diesels were changed over. In fact I saw my first 190XT diesel with the light rear end at the last Suess Sale in Racine MN. Some slipped through the cracks and this one is still going. I have an early straight 190 with a D2800 and it's been a great tractor for me. | Lonn, I have a small axel rear end XT, there were some XT's that could not accept the big axel so A-C made harden axels and put them in to replace the origional axel. So it is possible that it was changed and then maybe it wasn't. When we bought our XT, the dealer told us how to tell the difference between the hard and soft axel but 35 years since have gone by and I don't remember what to look for to tell if it was changed or not. |
