Going to look at some 8010's in Ohio this weekend. Anything in particular you should check. Do not really need 4x4 but several setting around. Is the 4x4 a good design? Thanks, Bill

Any 8000 series should be a good tractor. The front wheel assist shouldn't be an issue. In my opinion, the power shift is more desireable than the power director transmission. Sounds like there is more than one for sale. What kind of price on them? Thanks, Darrel

Four wheel drive 23,000
Thanks for your reply, I have never sat in one, let alone work one. Bill

We have a 1984 w/ FWA and the 20 speed power director transmission. In my opinion I would go with FWA. You never know when you will need it but also alot depends on what you are planning on using it for. I would recommend a powershift if you are traveling the roads often. I personally prefer a 20 speed in the fields because it allows you to select the more appropriate speed, even with our 20 speed sometimes I wish I had more to choose from. Ours has been a very reliable tractor. We use it on the discbine, round baler, disk, manure spreader, silo blower, ag-bagger, etc.

I have a 8050 power shift 12 speed it works fine. The power director can present issues under heavy load, under light loads the power director is good. The 8050 is used for primary tillage on a five shank Sanford wing plow.
