Hey all,

i have a friend with a blown 301 in a 7000, and I have a good engine off a combine. Im thinking its a 120 hp off a 74 M as near as I can tell.

Good engine is 2D-63504 catalog number 4024341

Blown engine is 2D-92388 catalog number 4007000

Im assuming biggest deal is the front plate has to be swapped, outside of that nothing too big?

Oil cooler setup looks to be the same.

Any info appreciated,
Thanks!

Never been around a 74 M that had a DM-4 Roosa pump. Maybe there was some, but I didn't think so.

block casting date is like 7 of 73, so I assumed 74 model year, but maybe its out of a 75 and it took that long to get setup?

It has the roosa, but the older style oil cooler, so I was thinking the 120 hp version.

i believe the 130 hp would have had the Simms, same as the L?

Old style oil cooler (like an XT-200-7000) with a "DC" Roosa Master was 120 HP flywheel rating.  Old style oil cooler with a "DB" injection pump was 105 flywheel HP like in a G combine. New style oil cooler (7010-20) with DM-4 RoosaMaster was 130 flywheel HP and I think first offered in 1977 M-2 combines. As far as I know all SIMMS pump engines had that orphan looking oil cooler and were also 130 HP.
