Want to convert my originally gasoline powered forklift from lpg back to gasoline. Does anyone have or can recommend a carburetor that would work properly? I don’t use this machine much and right now it needs the supply hoses replaced. I’m not happy with the lpg conversion as it is a propane hog and lacking in power. It is an old universal lpg conversion that I can’t even find the name of. I did find information on how to adjust a similar system and have it set up as good as it is going to get. The engine compression is good and it is tuned properly. Does anyone have a suggestion?

your tractor should have a G153 motor .........

G153  is a 'Buda' engine, same as in Cockshut30 farm tractors, might be an optional source for a carb ?
My forklift has the BD153 in it (diesel) and I bought comlete running '30' with the intent to replace the 'ultra low compression' diesel with gas. it was going to be a long , 'slugfest' ordeal so I passed..
Yikes $400 for JUST a carb ??

the "14991" listed for the "OLD 153" does not seem right ($480) ... That same carb fits the 226 and 230 inch motors ??? That cant be right. ........... i would call and ask whey the 12566 would not work ($380.)

I won't pay almost $500 for any single barrel carburetor. If I used this everyday, it would be a different story, but sometimes it will sit for a couple months.
I'm looking for a used one in the 153 cubic inch range that has an adjustable main jet that is horizontal, has the right bolt centers and has the linkage on the correct side. I found several candidates this afternoon.

Tony, i did the same thing several months ago... I have bought China carburetors for chainsaws and gocart engines that worked fine.... Figured they MIGHT do OK on larger carbs ???..... I was considering changing the carb on a CASE Backhoe of 159 cubic inch engine... Looked on e-bay and found a couple "china" version for old IH or FORD tractors in the 160 CID range........never did pursue past LOOKING.

Same here with the small engines. I hate to buy china, but no customer complaints. I have no problem modifying a carb to work. An adjustable main will make it easy.

i have noticed there are about 3-4 main "sizes" of carburetors... Like a "B" will not fit a "WD45" manifold... Bolt pattern and throat diameter are different... Might have one size SMALL that goes on  motors up to 150 CID.... a MEDIUM might fit 140 - 200 cid... a LARGE might be over 200 cid ... etc.... Obviously a "MEDIUM" body that fits a 140 cid or a 200 cid engnine will need different JETS inside... but the BODY is the same SIZE... get that right, bolt up pattern and throat diameter.
