Hey everyone! I'm currently working on a Deutz FL912 or FL913 "I cant remember off the top of my head what model". It's a power unit for a PTO powered irrigation pump. Engine hasn't been ran for about 6 or 7 years. Started it up and one cylinder was missing. Engine was running great last time it was ran. I pulled the injector on the non running cylinder and tested it on my pop tester. Nozzle was plugged. I soaked the nozzle in acetone for a couple of days and did get it to unplug somewhat but the spray pattern is poor and pop pressure is inconsistent. I cant get the needle out of the nozzle body to get a more thorough cleaning done. Im thinking about replacing the nozzle and possibly replacing all the nozzles while im at it. Now I have a ? about setting the pop pressure for each nozzle. These are Bosch injectors and the pressure is set with shims. How close would the pop pressure be if I installed new nozzles and used the same shims?? Im assuming they will need to be adjusted so I will need shims. Where is a good place to source these shims? Nearest injector shop is 200 miles from here and they aren't very willing to help a guy out. Any online suppliers that people have had good luck with? Anything else I am missing?? Im new to the world of working on injectors so any tips is appreciated!

Thanks!
Ben

As I recall the 913 is the turboed engine, I don't have a "go to'' place for injection parts but I would think that any Bosch dealer would be the same as any other. Should you ever have to pull the crank pulley on either a 912 or 913 I do have the the pulley wrench and they are tight, 1300 foot pounds or there abouts if memory serves me correctly, the real problem is  one is right hand thread and one is left and I don't remember which is which.  Best of luck.

The only Deutz parts I've ever had to buy were for a Vermeer trencher so not a very big engine. I bought from W.W. Williams in Cartersville GA. I thought they were a little expensive but if you need it, you need it. I'd say Cartersville is a LONG way from you though. I'd dare say they would have a hard time finding you a radiator if you needed one though
