my engine is from a combine so the engine is now operating without a governor will this harm the engine. Do i need to replace the front cover from 2800 tractor engine. i am not sure how the governor works? thanks

The combine engine govenor works only at full rpm. That will not hurt the engine but it will be doggy other than at full thottle .
