| First off, it can only be as new as 1967. That's the last built in May or June of 67. Missing combination work/tail light on left fender. Missing rubber filler between steering column and fuel tank. Missing top link to the 3-point hitch. Rubber boot at the air cleaner tube not original. |

Wonder how much he had in the tractor. I have question for some of you what do you think it cost to do a Diesel motor? This is some one doing the work not the person who owns the tractor. |

A John Deere 5075E (2wd) lists for $31k. Before the supply chain problems, I would guess you could get it for $26k. Weighs a few pounds more. Similar size tires. Smaller 3 cylinder with turbo. No power adjust rims. Made in India I think.

| The wrong screws/bolts holding the the side panels on under the fuel tank. Small detail but I would think they would be correct for such a high price. Just my thought. |

I’ve been saying for 5 years this was gonna happen. Folks are tired of the new tractor prices, computers, and the cost to repair them. The ole saying they don’t make ‘em like they used to is so true. More bells and whistles on the new stuff but for a small farmer the older stuff has been durable and in most cases can be repaired by the owner. Although I’m certain it went to a collector. I will say this, I have no desire to buy a new one. We have AC’s that all get used on our farm from 1952 thru 1981 models. Only 1 has ever been sold, a D14 that dad traded in on the 6060. And he wished he never would have sold it. That is the way I looked at things when I had the motor totally redone,new clutch and some other things on my Oliver 1365 4WD,runs and drives like new,wouldn't trade it for a new 55HP to use on the farm.Those electronic gizmos don't appeal to me.

I would assume that 2 siblings who were going to inherit the proceeds both wanted it . Basically one of them would just have to outbid the other . Then it would only cost them half as they would inherit the other half. Still have to pay the auction company. 11,000 is still a lot but more reasonable. My grandfather bought our family farm this way . His wife and her brother were the only heirs. My grandfather only had to outbid his brother in law at the estate sale. His brother in law did not have the means and my grandfather did . At the time it was a record price for land but my grandfather claimed ho only paid half of that . D17 series IV, diesel. The best D17 Allis ever made, if it was properly done and I wanted to work it versus a new model, a no brainer. I wouldn’t go that high of a price but knowing what a complete rebuild cost I would have to think seriously about spending the cash versus a new computer tractor. | DougG.....the hydraulics on that D-17 series IV are as many GPM's as a One-Eighty and the hydraulic console is exactly the same. The brakes on that tractor are exactly the same parts as a One-Eighty. The 3-point hitch on that tractor is exactly the same as a One-Eighty. |
