He wouldn’t confirm exactly how many GMC will be building then, but the Hummer EV’s Ultium electric platform will also be underpinning the upcoming GMC Sierra EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV pickups, and GM plans to be selling 600,000 electric trucks annually by 2025. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

The key issue in the price is the moneys they threw at this to get it out the door and the expense they know warranties will cost over first couple of years as that is always added into the sales pricing, so obviously there is little as to longevity expectations on these. Metro transit STL now has a dozen all electric buses, the systems onboard include dynamic braking/battery top charge so are now able to retain close to 60% charge by end of day. Are still new so unknown what issues will just crop up other than expected and advertised battery life is 2, yes a Whole TWO years due to deep charge/discharge cycles breaking down the cell structures. Price today for a battery $96,000 plus labor to swap and again unknown if will be recyclable. |
