SOLD!:  1940 Allis Chalmers B World War II U.S. Army style project

For sale is a 1940 Allis Chalmers B (with a 1942 engine) restored and detail as the U.S. Army’s “light tractor, M2” as shown in the 1942 War Department manual TM9-782.  This is an incomplete restoration and is not running.  The engine was running originally but there appears to be an issue with the rebuilt magneto which will need to be resolved to get it running again.  The only body restoration work left to be done is the hood and the front brush guard.  Included are two hoods from which one restored hood will need to be made.  The front push guard would have to be fabricated to finish the restoration.  This is not one of the original 96 purchased in 1940 by the Army.  This is a replica of the Army issue version.

The tractor has many new or rebuilt parts installed, such as brake bands, new bearings and seals in the axles, steering wheel, front tires, carburetor, etc.  Also included are some spare used parts, such as an extra head, rocker arm, along with a couple of boxes of transmission and final drive axles and gears, carburetor parts, etc.  Too much stuff to list here.

I am moving and don’t have the space and facilities at the new place and don’t want to have to haul it to storage somewhere.  I can provide additional images as needed.  It is currently located in Austin, Texas.  I am asking $2500.00 or best offer for the lot.
