Hey guys I was just checking in to see if you have a tractor you want of a different brand.   I myself have alwasy wanted a IH 1206 or g1000 vista MM.   Just was thinking about that.  I know Orange is always better but those are a couple of nice machines!

Have a Ford 5610. Bought new in 1981 ????. Hated to see the Ford tractors go. New Holland really messed up a good thing.

Andrew I like the Minnie also. I have a model J Minnie I hope to get going someday but only time will tell. I have a 2290 Case and use it every day and it is one of the most dependable tractors I have ever had and almost no repairs.

I also like the 90 series Case tractors.  Put many hours on both 70 and 90 series Case 2WD and 4WD tractors while growing up in Saskatchewan.  They were good tractors and we seemed to escape the powershift problems they were known to have.

I'd love to have a 2255 oliver with a 3208 cat in it.  As for tractors I already have, I cannot say anything but good things about the Ford 5610-7610 series.  Talk about solid tractors that are simple to work on.

I grew up on Miine Molines. There was a 1970 U302 lp 48th out of 50 made that Last year of prodution. A olli 77,  MM 670 with the 3 speed tourque, A mm G1000, And of course a 8n Ford.  My Grandpa use to have a wd allis and the nighbors had it and a 190 a 7010, Good friends of mine were all allis on there farms. Always like the Orange ones.

Top of my list would be Oliver 1750 followed by earlier style Oliver 770. Ideally, they would be the ones we had back on the farm if they were still kicking around somewhere. I'm not holding my breath but I sure miss those good old tractors. The neighbor I used to work for had a pretty sweet Farmall Super M -tough machine also.

Farmers proably won't consider it a tractor but i like the little Farmall Cub  .Had one when growing up .Cultivated about 50 acres one year.Remender running two full tanks of gas in one day . Had two neighbors that started dairies of about 15 cows each and all they had was  a cub the first few years.

It would have to be my '64 2000 Ford, was the only thing my grandfather ever bought brand new.He bought it exactly 40 years before he died. He purchased it 12-7-64 and he died 12-7-04. It has been tough I'm not sure of hours, it is on it's third hour meter. Our '75 Ford 7000 has 7700 hrs. has only had a turbo and a clutch. But they are still not as tough as our Allis tractors.

I like Olivers and Farmall/IH tractors, mainly the '06 series like 806 or 1206.

Fords are OK too as they seem tough.

Just can't warm up to Deere's but I am sure they had some good ones.

My wife has an MM Avery Model V that I bought for her. Some of our club had some tractors at a highway congress meeting at the Skowhegan Fair grounds last spring. I brought the Avery. A fellow walked by and said he wanted to photograph tractors. Well, my Deere friends offered their nicely restored green to him, but he said, "no thanks, JD's are a dime a dozen. I want a picture of that Avery" They were some bummed and I had all I could do to not split my gut laughing.

I would like a Leader to add to the stable. Bob@allisdowneast

Jd 60 w/power steering.  Probably the best raking and mounted sickle mowing tractor ever.  Had the advancements in live pto/hydraulics but could turn on a dime and run slow in higher gears with lighter loads. Brakes separated, one on each side is a plus for raking and mowing.    I wouldn't give a dime for a non powersteering one, we owned one as well growing up and were happy to see it leave.  Heavy work was another story however hated 2 cylinders for plowing or discing.  New series jd with syncromesh was a nice loader tractor.  70 series cases with working AC is a favorite heavy work tractor, problems with the powershift was an operator problem, not a design problem.

While I liked IH especially a 560 we had, hated the *06 series and up do to the damn shifter mechanism.    Father and I always wished that you could put a 560 style shifter on a 706, would have made a nice tractor then.

Well it's orange but it's not AC, and they don't make em any more. I'd like an AGCO, either a DT or an RT series around 160hp (or a little more) to replace my 7060, I'd take an A or a B series. I love the new DT275 at my dealer, I don't need that much horse power for my operation but I sure like that tractor!

This old girl will always be my favorite. Dads bought an Oliver 77 new in 1949. I have been in love with the 77's ever since.  Spent two hours on her this afternoon mowing a hay field.  I crimped hay with a Farmall C this morning for an hour and then fired up an Allis Chalmers B and hauled a load of manure. I then fired up the Simplicity 9523 same as Allis 5020 and raked up enough green wet hay to pitch on a trailer to feed two horses on poor pasture.

I like em all.

Dick, Your 1949 77 was the first year of 77 production. Our 1948 Row Crop 70 was the last year the 70 was made. It's cool to see the sheet metal difference other than that they are basicly the same tractor.

David I couldn't agree more. My water pump seal went bad today but while messin' with that I got the tuning right. GOOD LORD it sounds awesome and the miss that I had been complaining about went away along with the vicious acceleration. I have a chrome stack on it at the moment and now it barks a good mean and consistant bark.

I am actually looking for a '35 to '37 John Deere B with spoke wheels on rubber. I want to find one in a fence row, but instead people drag them out of a fence row and want a rediculous price for them.

I also would like a John Deere H under the same scenario... I'm talking cheap.

The neighbor's 706 was always a treat to drive but after working at a red dealership I cooled some on the red ones. Too many things that wear out. I really liked my buddies 7000 and TW25 Fords. I have only sat in these tractors but they seemed to have been really good machines for them with little or no problems. They are responsive and fuel efficient like an Allis. Been in a few newer Deeres and owned an A and never liked any of them. They certainly don't have that snap like an Allis and was glad to see the A go down the road. It was hard starting and a big dog.

Well that 504 is a love hate thing for sure. Interesting, but glad it is not mine.

Lotta great responses in this thread.

I like running our Super C. Got a MH 44 that is a nice runner but the fav is my Farmall MD (with power steering and 3 point). Always liked the x000 Fords back when, but not that much of a 2 cylinder fan. Do plan on a WD45 some day, but too busy with the IH TD18s at the moment. (Nothing says fun like knocking trees out of the ground :) )

My most favorite tractor? The one I'm driving of course.

I'm absolutely loving this thread! It's nice to see that it's ok with most of you to like other brands. I'm a true Allis fan, but if I can save a piece of steel in a fence row from going to the scrap yard... I don't care what color or brand it is. My Dad was raised on just about every major brand except for Farmalls. If I can help him relive his past on the dairy farm and let him share some stories from the old days by looking at old tractors, then my mission is complete. God Bless

I guess my favorite non AC is my Ferguson 40.  It's a handy little tractor I use for lots of odd jobs around the place.  I've had it for nearly 30 years and it's been very dependable.  I used to run Fords, I imported a dozen or so from England in the 1970's when the exchange rate was in our favor.  Really liked my 4000 SOS diesel, great baling tractor.  Kept selling them as I needed the money for upgrading machinery.  Someday I'd like to get an Oliver 77, they sound sooo smooth, an offset Ford, forget the number, and maybe a Ford 6000, ran one for a neighbor in the late '60's and just liked the way they looked and worked.

I guess it would be an Ollie for me. Not sure which model. The older Ford 1000 series were solid too. If it was going to be a new tractor, would most likely be a Kubota in the 50 HP range. I know, it's from Japan, but at least it's (close to)the right color.LOL!

A one lung Field Marshall. I like the idea of starting it with an explosion.

I would have to say a IH 856 plowing with 5-18's, man, don't know how many 1000's of acres I plowed with that, sure was a fun at night cresting over a clay knoll and having the front-end just barely bouncing off the ground and seeing that flame shouting 12-18 inches out the top of the muffler.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I was almost born on a Farmall H, so have always been a Red fan, but always liked the Allis Chalmers C, WD, and WC that the neighbors had. Have a Farmall Super C and an Allis CA now.

While I am AC orange thru and thru ---- I must admit my favorite single tractor is the JD 4020. In "my time" (the 60's thru 80's) it is, in my opinion, the coolest and most complete tractor ever made. The power and versitility for a tractor that size is truely remarkable. I also love the looks and style of the machine. If I had $10k-$15k to spend - I would own one.

Having said that the AC WD 45 is a close 2nd. I have an AC WD 45 Diesel + an AC "C".
