I noticed that alot of the classic tractor companies had special names for thier tractor paint. Such As...

Allis-Chalmers: Persian Orange and Corporate Orange
Oliver: Meadow Green
Minneapolis-Moline: Prarie Gold
Massey Harris (the good Massey):  Red-Centari and Straw Yellow
Case: Flambeau Red and Case Power White
Ford: Empire Blue and Vermillion Red (trim on N series and Workmaster/Powermaster)

Am I the only one that noticed this? All the paint today is refered to as Kubota Orange or John Deere Green nothing fancy. It seems that the companies back then took pride in thier names and colors and worked to build the best tractor that they could, and often did.

Not sure about Kubota. My opinion on JD is that they wanted their color to be known for their equipment, and only for it. They would not want someone painting their house a certain shade of green and it being the same as the equipment. They wanted brand-specific color. Another scenario could be that when you get ag and equipment paint at the farm supply, it is usually called JD green, IH red, AC orange, Ford blue, etc. Maybe there is another name for that particular shade of green and yellow, I don't know.
