I see over on one of the FB Allis pages there was a guy questioning an H3 crawler with the Holt 400 winch on the back. Evidently these winches use master cylinders to make them work???? I was kind of intrigued as to how they work yet I cant find much info online? Anyone have one or know how they work???

probably 'master-slave' setup, same as 99% of all cars with sticks in them ?
Lever on master( it'd be foot pedal for cars..) makes master push oil to slave, slave 'rod' then moves some 'arm' to engage the winch 'rotate' mechanism.
every 'heavy' tow truck uses a similar system. maybe look them up, a winch is a winch theory.
key is EASY to install, universal, and control...and cheap as same parts used for 100s of different vehicles.
