This past weekend, I lost me best friend and first cousin. He was 51. Hardest worker and best hunter I ever knew. Picture of a nice buck he got about 20 years ago, I'm in the orange. Fitting for this board I guess.

the circle of life can make your eyes water.

Looks like there were some good times to remember though.  Hang in there.

Did your cousin work and live in Ohio back in the late 90's.? He sure looks like a nice guy I knew that quit and moved back to Iowa.

Gary, no, he was born, raised, and lived his whole life here in Iowa.

His passing is going to leave a huge hole in the community too. There isn't a good brick mason around here now. He would take jobs fixing chimneys and things on roofs I thought he was crazy for.

God sometimes calls the good ones home early despite our wanting to keep them with us. Prayers for you and his family.

Thanks, been a rough week. Will never be the same without him.

Had supper at his mother/father in law's place last night. His son and college roommates were there, we sat and told hunting stories for a long while. I did most of the talking.

My condolances, Mike... sad to hear of another great one lost too early.  I don't know how anyone else feels, but the too-older I get, the too-younger my lost friends become.
