Six months ago a recently retired, 6', always pleasant, Sunday School class, male friend slipped while entering his car and fell, injurying his spinal cord. Facilities for such patients are limited (at least in this area). At one place (for a week) he could watch birds out the window.  He is experiencing unpleasant hallucinations; not unusual for spinal cord injury patients.
Our 2003 Dakota pickup has a properly located hand grip in the corner frame/roof support; our 2018 Subaru SUV hand grip is above one's shoulder when they are seated (not properly located in my opinion.)  Herb(GA)

Freak accidents.  Several years ago, we had a church member fall out of a simple hammock about 3' off the ground.  Parapalegic now.
