i just recently atempted to paint my 38 b
i guess i used the wrong paint idk
i painted the hood , grill cover and gas tank. i used spray paint from ace hardware along with clear coat. i let the paint dry for over a week and i went to put gas in it some spilt on the tank and ruined the clear coat.
can anyone answer as to how to solve this problem and what are the correct paint codes to use as well
thank you

most rattle can paints will not hold up to gasoline ..... not sure what the "clear coat" base material is... You might have been further ahead without the clear top coat..

Professional paints like on a car or truck were normally  acrylic enamel in years past.. Hardware store paint is alkyln enamel and will not hold up good against gasoline puddles.. a quick WIPE maybe, but not extended contact.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
