I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get a powershift valve body for my 7060 tractor? AGCO dealers are asking $2000. Is that normal price?

Thanks. I tried a salvage yard. They sent one that looked good on the outside, but rusty when you tear into it.

Has anyone had one go bad beyond repair?

Well my first tractor I ever bought a year ago (I'm 43 and it's a 7060 powershift) developed transmission problems in October of 2020. I had the tractor split and overhauled from March to June 2021. I was driving the tractor home in June from the overhaul and multiple clutches engaged during the drive home after the tractor was in 6th gear for a few minutes. Here is that post.

The tractor went back to get fixed again, and I was driving it home on Sunday from the shop to put it to work. I was about 2 miles from the home from the 16 mile journey, and it seemed everything fell apart in the transmission again. Any gear I put the tractor into in low or high side would bog the tractor down and want to kill it if I would keep the clutch out long enough. I feel like multiple clutch packs are engaging again. The shop guy was thinking the valve body is shot now, and since we had bad luck with another used one, he cleaned up the original valve body and put it back on again. 

So we talked over the weekend, and he is wanting to try a new valve body to the tune of $2000. I already have $11,000 into the cost of the transmission rebuild from the first time. The guy working on it is doing a great job working with me to get this fixed. He use to work for Robinson in the shop, so I want to trust the guy. 

The guy left a pressure gauge for me to watch for the C2 clutch pack on the ride home. He said with the clutch pushed in I should see around 25 PSI and zero when the clutch was out. Well after the issue the pressure gauge read zero no matter what position the clutch was in.

With the tractor in neutral gear and in either low or high side when I would let the clutch out it would take the RPMS down around 500-700 RPMS and hold at the new RPM level.

Any advice on the correct path to take is appreciated. I have had this tractor for almost a year, and only got to use it a day in the field. Is has 4300 hours on the tach.

Wow! Sounds like you have my luck. Something is definitaly wrong somewhere. I'm sure it's fixable but have got to figure out cause first and I can't help there.

What was the failure the second time around??  The C-2 (reverse) clutch ??

I am not quit versed in the transmission language, but the two seals you discussed in the June posting that may have not gotten replaced were actually replaced that went to the C2 clutch. But there is a housing that those go into. When it was pressure tested with air, it had a small leak with the new seals. 

The guy was able to get a replacement from a salvage yard. He pressure checked the housing with air, and it held up great he said. He mentioned that on the original cast housing their might have been an internal crack that developed over the year that you couldn't see. He was impressed with the replacement part. 

When he test drove it on Saturday he thought it acted up once for a second or two and that is why he wanted to leave the gauge on to monitor. I just don't know how much damage I did to the clutches driving it onto the trailer to get back over to him. I was able to get the tractor to move in 3rd gear high side to load it. We coasted it off the trailer.

In my opinion, I still think foreign material is getting into valve body. At one time there was a shield to cover valve body that helped to prevent debree from getting into valve. NLA. 
Cooler and lines need washed out along with filter lines.
Increase size of plunger pin holes will help to prevent plungers from sticking.

So from what I am understanding, I shouldn't need to spend $2000, I can just increase the plunger sizes. Would a machine shop be able to do that, or what would I need to do.

What p/n of transmission filter does this tractor take ??  I agree with Mack, but noth there looking at it. I think the whole system, coolers/cooler lines and all are contaminated causing plungers in the valve to stick. There's also a matter of flyball orifices in certain clutches that could be plugged and flyball springs should have been cleaned and new. If it is a C-2 clutch failure twice, I have another trick you can do.

The transmission filter is from Agco and it is 70269856.

I plan on calling the guy at noon time today to see what he has found out. I will update with anything I hear.

Wondering is there a machine that will flush the system on a tractor like a tranmission on a car?

It is not plunger size, it is the pins that  set on top of plungers that push on plungers.      MACK

I just wanted to update the post. We found a 7010 PS with the valve body still in the tractor sealed up that they are going to pull off the tractor an inspect before shipping. No luck on a new valve body.

I have fingers crossed the old valve body is in good shape, and it can get rebuilt with no issues.

Hopefully in a few short weeks I can finally put the girl to work on the family farm.
