Still have a couple P38s
Also have a old commercial can opener that is likely 1930ish that will open anything came from grandmother’s.
Been using a side opener of late. Electric where no cut edge is left to mangle a finger and lid can be set back on as a cover, kinda prefer that.

The P38's are reliable. I have several, keep one on my key ring

Does anyone use one of those old wall mounted hand crank openers? Worked well for mom and have a new one never used that I keep threatening to put up in the kitchen.
While on the China-junk topic has anyone tried to buy a decent toaster lately. Have looked at dozens on various sites and the reviews are not very encouraging. Finally bought what we thought was the best of the bunch and is junk. Slots not big enough for regular bread and one side is brown and the other white.

Going out on a limb......."One side is brown, the other side is white".  Does your toaster have various "modes"?  There is a bagel setting on our toaster, that's what it does.

95, Thanks for the thought but we are not using the bagel setting; has a separate button for that and it is not lighted when toasting.
The only toaster we found that claimed to be USA made was a commercial grade and priced over $800.00. There was a place too that listed old refurbished USA toasters but were mostly a few hundred dollars. Why can't they just make new toasters using the old technology?

hey guys..........how about a torch or atleast a hammer and chisel!!

My wife mentioned just a few days ago that she was having trouble with hers and it's not very old. Too much from China!!

If everyone took all the junk that Wallie's sold them back when it doesn't work for very long........it wouldn't be any fun for them to keep selling it

My accountant got a Pampered Chef brand years ago and she loves it…. until recently. I have never liked it. Future does not appear good for a better replacement from I’m reading here.

Cutco still makes them in the US life time warranty my moms had one since 1961. Buddy brought his in to work a couple weeks ago looks like a black version of my moms worked great. Only down side is the hundered dollar price.

The $100 for a life time versus $20 every 2 to 5 years sounds cheap.

Bought a Electric Side Opening - Black and Decker - new in box at Goodwill about a year back $5 on the sticker price and got it on Old Peoples Wednesday 25% 0ff - works great .
The had held side openers I bought at Wally World the handle broke off the turner - 2 times had to take it back .
Least no question on exchange -

On toasters - have one of Wally Worlds and it has held up now for 8 years .
